is a Web site designed especially for parents and children of the southwestern Pennsylvania area.

Within Pittsburgh and the surrounding communities there are many great educational programs and summer camps for children and teen-agers, however, these programs were never all neatly organized into one source...until now!

Policy Innovations Institute, Inc., a Pittsburgh 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, established this Web site to provide parents and guardians “one-stop” access to the multitude of summer camps and educational programming options available outside of the normal school day/year. Many of the programs are affiliated with some of the largest and most prestigious nonprofit organizations in the region.

• Our goal is to act as a liaison for families and Pittsburgh educational programs, providing “one-stop” access to the many educational opportunities for children and teens in the Pittsburgh area.
  
  
• We welcome and encourage any Southwestern PA nonprofit organization to list their kids programs and summer camps free of charge, including (but not limited to): math, science, reading, history, social studies, language, music, art, dance, baseball, soccer, basketball, hockey, football, cheerleading, etc... • Parents and guardians can use our search engine to find a multitude of Summer Camps and other Kids Programs located in (and around) Pittsburgh. A parent can search by a child's age; date; favorite subject; and/or organization name. Educational programs that match your search criteria will pop-up for review. Included in the results will be a “get details” button providing a screen with specific information on each of the programs. Also, a link to the host organization's Web site provides even further information and complete registration specifics. To protect against fraud, we do not register children for camps/programs on our Site - we provide a direct link to each individual organization's Web site for a safe registration process.
  
  
• As a non-profit, we are funded through private donations and grants. We keep our administrative costs low, allowing us to use the majority of the money raised for endeavors like this website.
  
  
• Pittsburgh Kids Programs is passionate about education, and believes it is absolutely necessary that all children have the opportunity to continue their education outside of the classroom environment (especially in the summer). We recognize that some families are in a better position to participate in summer programs, while others are not. As a result, an important aspect of our mission is to raise money for outreach programs, scholarships, and/or financial assistance for families/children in need.
